PJ Germain is a first-generation Indian-Haitian American filmmaker based in Los Angeles whose work explores identity, legacy, and transformation through a genre lens. A graduate of the prestigious AFI Directing program, PJ brings a bold cinematic voice shaped by cultural heritage, personal experience, and a lifelong love of storytelling.
 
His breakout short Ghost Light, starring Abraham Benrubi, received support from the Lucasfilm Foundation and garnered acclaim on the festival circuit. The film cemented PJ’s signature approach: weaving emotionally grounded stories into genre-driven frameworks that examine the human condition. His work has since screened at notable festivals such as LA Shorts Fest, HollyShorts, and FilmQuest.

PJ's professional career started with the post production teams of James Cameron's AVATAR, Alexandre Aja's PIRANHA 3D and the television series DEADLIEST CATCH. 
He is a member of the Motion Picture Editor's Guild, and served as an Assistant Editor for the FX Series KINDRED, by showrunner Branden Jacobs Jenkins as well as the Academy Award Shortlisted film GO FOR GRANDMA, directed by Sabrina Doyle.

In 2024, PJ won two Webby Awards for his behind the camera work with Cool Beans Comedy, headed by producers Corey Martin Craig and Suzanne Luna.

PJ draw on his Caribbean and South Asian roots with stories that blend spectacle with intimacy, always grounded in emotional truth.
